The Meridian Forum has now been in existence for more than 10 years, and relies heavily on a “core” of committee members that give their all to enhance the lives of the “over 50s”. We have two longstanding members, Brian and Yvonne Vernon, whose lives were tragically turned round nearly 2 years ago when Brian contracted encephalitis (an acquired brain injury). Brian was in hospital for over a year, but although he is now being cared for at Chasley Trust in Eastbourne, his family want him back home, where he belongs. His wife Yvonne and his daughter Sharon, have been busily fundraising to purchase various pieces of equipment that would help Brian return to the family nest. They are seeking funds to help purchase a hoist, so PLEASE PLEASE visit Brian’s website at http://brianvernon.co.uk/ – it gives a real insight into Brian’s struggle and I think the whole family have been incredibly brave, and you can donate via the links on this page. Please be generous – the family are not only asking for money – they do a lot of fundraising at markets and would appreciate donations of goods to sell.
Come on LET’S GET BRIAN HOME!!
